Jungle Maze — free printable maze for kids to print and color at home

Welcome to the jungle, my friends! This printable maze is a fantastic way to challenge those problem-solving muscles and maybe even learn a little patience. It’s an abstract line puzzle, so no need to worry about drawing inside the lines – just trace your way through the twists and turns until you find the hidden path. My kids loved the "Aha!" moment when they finally cracked it.

Here’s a practical tip from our household: Print a few copies! Sometimes, a fresh start is all it takes to see the solution, especially after a couple of dead ends. Plus, it's great for sharing the fun if you have multiple explorers on your hands.

Frequently asked questions

Is this maze the right difficulty for my child?

The Jungle Maze is sized for kids ages 5–8, with corridors and turns matched to that age. If it's too easy, have them time themselves or solve it with their other hand; if it's frustrating, solve the first stretch together and let them finish.

Pencil or marker for solving mazes?

Pencil first — wrong turns happen, and being able to erase keeps frustration low. Once the route is found, tracing over it in marker makes a satisfying "victory lap" and doubles the pencil-control practice.

Is this too babyish for my 8-year-old?

Try it before assuming — kids this age still love a good puzzle or coloring session, especially with "grown-up" tools like gel pens or fine-tip markers. Adding a self-set challenge (a timer, a color pattern, beating a sibling's time) refreshes any page.
