Lotus Mandala — free printable mandala for kids to print and color at home

Here at WildPrintables, we love a good mandala, and this lotus design is a particularly intricate beauty. It's packed with little sections, perfect for a calming, focused coloring session that really lets you explore color combinations and patterns. It's truly amazing to see how different this one can look with just a change in your color palette.

For the best experience with all those tiny details, we highly recommend printing this lotus mandala on a slightly heavier cardstock. This will prevent your markers from bleeding through and give the page a nice, sturdy feel for all the focused coloring ahead.

Frequently asked questions

Does my child have to finish the whole mandala?

Not at all — a half-colored mandala already looks intentional because of the symmetry. Leaving it on a clipboard to return to over a few days actually teaches something valuable: big, careful projects are allowed to take time.

What's the best way to color a mandala?

There's no right way, but two approaches work beautifully: pick 3–4 colors and repeat them in the same order around each ring, or work from the center outward. The symmetry does the artistic heavy lifting — almost any color plan looks striking when it repeats.

Is this too babyish for my 8-year-old?

Try it before assuming — kids this age still love a good puzzle or coloring session, especially with "grown-up" tools like gel pens or fine-tip markers. Adding a self-set challenge (a timer, a color pattern, beating a sibling's time) refreshes any page.

Can I use it in my classroom or homeschool?

Yes. Our printables are free for personal, classroom and homeschool use — print as many copies as you need for the kids in your care. The only thing we ask is that you don't resell the files or upload them to other sites.
