You'll find the word list printed clearly under the grid. Some words run across, some go down, and others flow on the downward diagonal. To tackle this puzzle, we recommend starting with the first word on the list and scanning each row of letters from left to right, then top to bottom. Once you've scanned the horizontal and vertical directions, try looking for the first letter of your target word on the downward diagonals. Don't forget to keep an eye out for words spelled in reverse – sometimes they’re the trickiest ones to spot, but also the most rewarding to find!

That's a bonus find! Random letters sometimes form short words by chance. Circle it in a different color and celebrate the sharp eyes — the word list is the goal, but incidental words are extra reading practice.
Any tips for solving it faster?
Teach the classic method: pick one word, find its first letter anywhere in the grid, and check the neighbors. Rare letters (Q, X, Z, J) are the best anchors. Highlighters make found words satisfying to mark and easy to see.
Is this too babyish for my 8-year-old?
