How do we know if my child's counts are right?
Do a checking round together: recount one shape at a time, marking each find with a crayon dot so nothing gets counted twice. The double-check is quietly the best part — careful verifying is a real math habit, and it never feels like correction when you hunt as a team.
Can two kids share one I Spy page?
It works best as a team hunt on one page — each child "owns" half the item types and they trade sightings. For head-to-head racing, print a copy each; same picture, fair race.
What grip should my preschooler be using?
Many preschoolers still use a whole-fist grip, and that's fine — it usually matures into a tripod grip by age 5 without drilling. Short crayon stubs (really) nudge fingers into the right position naturally.
