To solve this sudoku, we suggest your child begins by focusing on one of the 2x3 boxes that has the most numbers already filled in. They can look for the missing numbers (1 through 6) within that box, making sure each number appears only once. Once a box is complete, they can then check the corresponding rows and columns to ensure no number is repeated there either, gradually filling the entire grid.

Is this sudoku size right for a beginner?
Smaller grids are the on-ramp: 4×4 boards suit first-timers, 6×6 suits kids who've solved a few and want more of a challenge. This 6×6 is a good step up once the 4×4s feel easy.
My child says the puzzle is impossible. Now what?
It isn't — every grid starts from a fully valid solution, so a way through always exists. The trick is to hunt for the most-filled row, column or box and ask what's missing there. If a wrong number went in early, a fresh printed copy is often kinder than untangling the error.
Can my child do this one alone?
That's the sweet spot of this age — hand it over and let them own it. Resist hovering: figuring out a sticking point solo (or choosing to ask for help) is a bigger win than a perfectly completed page.
