4×4 (numbers 1–4, 2×2 boxes) works from about age 5 once kids know their numbers. 6×6 (numbers 1–6, 2×3 boxes) suits ages 7 and up. Difficulty changes how many numbers are given: Easy shows most of them, Hard leaves more blanks.

Every puzzle is built from a complete valid grid, so a solution always exists. Puzzles with fewer clues may allow more than one valid answer — that is normal for kids sudoku and still good practice.
