Frequently asked questions
What if we can't find one of the items?
Make it a wildcard: substitute the closest thing you can find and have your child argue the case ("this counts because…"). The negotiation is more fun — and more language practice — than the finding.
Can we reuse the hunt more than once?
Yes — laminate a copy and check items off with a dry-erase marker, then wipe it clean for the next round. The same list plays differently on another day, because the finds are rarely the same twice, and a second round against a timer (or with siblings racing each other) keeps it fresh.
My preschooler gives up halfway through. Is that normal?
Completely. Attention at this age comes in bursts — leave the page out and it'll often get a second visit later. Praising the effort ("you worked on that a long time!") rather than the result builds the staying power.
