Tulip Mandala — free printable mandala for kids to print and color at home

Add a name, change the title and print your own version — free, in your browser.

The WildPrintables Team is delighted to share this free printable tulip mandala, carefully designed for focused coloring. This full-page symmetric design features rings of repeating sections radiating from the center, creating a beautiful floral pattern. You'll find a satisfying rhythm as you color the 12 identical petals that form the outer ring, and then move inwards to the intricate central bloom, all outlined with clean black lines that print crisply.

A fun way for kids to tackle this tulip mandala is by choosing a limited palette of 3-5 colors and repeating them strategically. For example, they could pick one color for all the smallest center shapes, another for the next ring out, and then alternate two colors for the larger petals and background elements. This approach helps build pattern recognition and keeps the coloring process enjoyable and manageable without overwhelming choices.

To get even more use out of this page, consider printing several copies and turning it into a collaborative art project. Each child can color their own tulip mandala, and then the finished pages can be assembled to create a vibrant spring bulletin board display. This encourages individual expression within a shared theme and celebrates each child's unique approach to color and design.

Frequently asked questions

Markers, pencils or gel pens for mandalas?

Colored pencils are the most forgiving in the small sections and never bleed. Fine-tip markers give the boldest result on cardstock. Gel pens are the older-kid favorite — a metallic gel pen on a few sections makes the whole design pop.

Are mandalas too detailed for young kids?

This one is drawn for kids ages 5–8 — the sections are bigger than an adult coloring book's, but smaller than a regular kids' page. If your child finds it fiddly, colored pencils reach small spaces better than crayons, and finishing over several sittings is completely fine.

Is this too babyish for my 8-year-old?

Try it before assuming — kids this age still love a good puzzle or coloring session, especially with "grown-up" tools like gel pens or fine-tip markers. Adding a self-set challenge (a timer, a color pattern, beating a sibling's time) refreshes any page.
