Frequently asked questions

My child finishes coloring pages in two minutes. Any tips?

Try a slow-down game: pick three colors only, color one section per color, or add a background with crayons after the main picture is done. You can also print two copies and color side by side — kids naturally take more care when someone colors along with them.

What should my child color it with?

Crayons and colored pencils are the safest bet on regular printer paper — markers look bold but can bleed through thin sheets. For preschoolers (around ages 3–4), chunky crayons or triangular pencils are easiest to grip.

My preschooler gives up halfway through. Is that normal?

Completely. Attention at this age comes in bursts — leave the page out and it'll often get a second visit later. Praising the effort ("you worked on that a long time!") rather than the result builds the staying power.

What paper should I print it on?

Plain letter paper works fine for the Kids Raising Hands Coloring Page. If it'll get heavy marker use or you want it to survive more than one afternoon, step up to 24 lb paper or light cardstock — crayons and colored pencils feel nicer on it too.
